Welcome to the Current Middle Ages
The Barony of Myrgan Wood is the North Saskatchewan branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Our territory includes everything north of the South Saskatchewan River including Saskatoon, Humboldt, Prince Albert, Meadow Lake, North Battleford, Rosetown, and various other communities. Myrgan Wood resides in the Kingdom of Avacal.
"The positions of Sergeant, Gallant, Yeoman, Lancer, Courtier and Warden within the Baronies of the Kingdom of Avacal, have been developed to allow individuals the opportunity to demonstrate the martial prowess, commitment to service, pursuit of the arts and sciences, and dedication to the chivalric qualities and developmental ideals esteemed within the Society for Creative Anachronism. The goal of the Sergeantry is to provide leadership within Avacal and their local group, and exemplify commitment to service to the populace of the Barony to which they swear fealty." His Lordship Robert of Caithness is a Sergeant of Myrgan Wood.
Sergeantry Trials are held periodically. The last one in the Kingdom of Avacal was held at the Quad War site near Lloydminster in August 2016.
Within the Sargeantry there are five classifications regarding combat or archery skill:
Another classification is that of Courtier. A Courtier's skills are in the areas of Arts & Sciences, as a artisan or in Service, such as stewarding. Note that Courtiers must also be a Junior Marshal in one area of combat.
