Next Business Meeting: Tuesday, February 21, 2017
Location: Saskatoon Fencing Club, 414 1st Ave N, Saskatoon.
You are encouraged to wear garb to business meetings. Most business meetings include a "tavern" which is a non-alcoholic potluck light supper. Munchies, desserts, cheese, etc. and non alcoholic beverages are brought by participants. Sometimes games, dancing or fighting follow. Minutes of previous meetings available here.
See the "Skald the Hall" webpage for additional information, as it becomes available. This will be the first time this event is being held. The focus is on Bardic Activities. A fight practice will be held on Sunday in Saskatoon, at the Fencing Club.
Registration is now open.
The Barony of Myrgan Wood had three demonstrations in fall 2016.
The next demonstration will be in Humboldt on Saturday evening, March 11 at a Medieval Dinner fundraiser for the Boy Scouts. Tickets should be purchased in advance for this.
Bardic Practices are resuming. These are planned for some Sunday afternoons beginning with November 27 and December 11. Information about time and place will be posted on the facebook group. Bring an instrument if you have one (even if you don't know how to play). Bardic isn't just singing; it's music, spoken word, stories, jokes, puns, dance, juggling, and entertainment in all forms. Please RSVP to Lady Seren if you plan to attend and she will provide directions.
There will be a bardic championship at Skald the Hall, a new Myrgan Wood event, proposed for March 2017. More information will be posted in the coming months.
Beginner Hand Drum Class on Sunday February 26, 2017 at 2 PM. Please join us while Adam Hiseff takes us through a beginner hand drum class. If you have any size or type of hand drum please bring it (or consider lending it for the class, in which case I will take responsibility for it). Nathan will teach us how to use drums, keep a beat, and more. Followed by a bardic circle to share (all types) of pieces and discussion for upcoming Skald. Please RSVP and for directions email@example.com
There will be dance practices lead by Mistress Fabianne on the 4th Tuesday of the month, beginning February 28. These will be at the Fencing Club in a designated area beginning at 7 PM. Lady Seren is helping to coordinate these.
Meetings are held periodically. Many people bring fibre arts projects to the Tuesday night gatherings to work on. Anyone is welcome who has an interest in the fibre arts.
We have a variety of merchandise for sale to support events in our barony! Please see the Announcement & Notices page for pictures and more information!
